Kizimkazi Festival 2026 Opens with Community, Energy and Celebration
Kizimkazi, Zanzibar | 12 August 2026 Kizimkazi Festival 2026 officially came alive this morning with an energetic community walk and jogging activity organised by Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation (MIF), bringing together residents of Kizimkazi, visitors, partners and festival participants in a powerful celebration of health, unity and community spirit.
The morning activity was honoured by the presence of H.E. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar, who joined the official opening of the festival.
Following the energetic walk and jogging session, participants came together for stretching and other wellness activities before the programme transitioned into the official opening of the festival exhibitions.
A key highlight was the President’s tour of the exhibition area, where he visited different exhibitors and engaged with businesses, innovators and community members showcasing their products, services and initiatives.
The strong participation of the people of Kizimkazi made the morning especially memorable. From the starting point to the exhibition grounds, the community came together to celebrate a festival that places people, enterprise, culture, health and sustainable development at the heart of its programme.
