Empowering Shehas with Mental Health Knowledge for Stronger Communities
Today we continued with Mental Health training in the Central District of the South Region, Unguja, for Shehia leaders (Shehas), who are very important stakeholders in serving the community. Shehas face various social challenges and cases every day; therefore, strengthening their understanding of mental health is an important step toward improving community well-being.
Through this training provided by MIF, the Shehas were equipped with knowledge and techniques to identify signs of mental health challenges, especially when disasters or social crises occur. They also learned the best ways to support their citizens in restoring stability, strengthening social cohesion, and contributing to building a strong community economy.
The goal is to ensure that our Shehias have leaders who are capable of supporting their citizens during times of difficulty, so that communities can maintain peace, well-being, and ultimately achieve sustainable development. 🧠🤝🌍
