Upcoming Event: Samia Bodaboda & Bajaji Festival.
The Samia Bodaboda & Bajaji Festival is an upcoming national initiative set to recognize and celebrate the vital contribution of bodaboda and bajaji transport operators to Tanzania’s social and economic development. The festival will officially launch in Zanzibar on 27 January 2026, before expanding to major regions across mainland Tanzania, including Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Arusha, Mwanza, and Mbeya.
The event is designed to mobilize communities to actively participate in blood donation and tree planting while strengthening public awareness on health, road safety, and environmental conservation. It brings together transport operators, public institutions, private sector partners, and citizens in a coordinated effort to support national development priorities.
Planned activities include blood donation drives, free health checkups, tree planting initiatives, talent showcases, road safety education sessions, and a special football match uniting Simba and Yanga supporters—promoting unity and collective action beyond rivalry.
Held in honor of the birthday of Samia Suluhu Hassan, the festival is guided by the slogan “Kazi yetu, Fahari yetu” reflecting a shared commitment to service, responsibility, and national pride.
