The opening of Kizimkazi Festival 2024
The early morning of 18/8/2024 marked the official launch of the 2024 Kizimkazi Festival.
The Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation (MIF) has achieved a record-breaking milestone in the clean energy movement in Pemba Island. By successfully distributing over 800 gas cylinders to every household in Kisiwa Panza, we have ignited a powerful shift toward sustainable, safe, and clean cooking solutions.
In the first three years of its existence, MIF has lived its mission of inspiring communities towards sustainable action and provide strategic leadership through coordinated and concerted efforts to improve education, health and economic status of women and youth. MIF has developed a wide network of implementing partners across the three areas of focus (education, socio-economic empowerment and health). A total of 9 MOUs have been entered with local and international partners attracting a total of more than TZS 2 billion in the reference period.
In the remote corners of Zanzibar, where access to education and opportunity often seems out of reach, a quiet but powerful transformation is unfolding. Through its innovative vocational education program, the Mwanamke Initiatives Foundation (MIF) is restoring hope and unlocking the potential of marginalized youth particularly young women, orphans, and those from low-income or single-parent households.
